INDEX II: DATASET (BÚNAÐARBANKINN) - 2023
The composition to the left within ‘Index II: Dataset’ describes the privatisation of Landsbankinn through forms that represent two dates relevant to that historic development. The first is the year that Kaupthing Investment Bank was established in 1982, the second when Búnaðarbankinn became a publicly traded company in 1998 and the third when Kaupthing merged with Búnaðarbankinn.

The yellow and green forms standing in an upright position are derived from numerical data extracted from M3 (broad money), GDP and credit indices that have been plotted in three-dimensional digital space. Wherein M3 and GDP have been placed on a horizontal axis (x) and credit on a vertical axis (y), which are then plotted along a z-axis of time to create a (digital) mass by connecting their vertices. The years 1998 and 2003 are then extracted from within that mass.
The purple form that extrudes from the yellow and the pink that rests on the ground are extracted from the same mass but represent a second set of dates – 1982 and 2003. Both of these sets retain their spatial relations to each other relative to their placement within the virtual model.
The third form in red is derived from numerical data extracted from banking system indices. Wherein bank assets and liabilities are placed on a horizontal axis (x) and banking equity is placed on a vertical axis (y) and plotted along a y-axis of time to create a digital mass by connecting those vectors. The year 2003 is then extracted from that mass.
