The walls of the exhibition space are painted red. Red means "not reality" within the colour system of metaphysics and "capital" within the system of (dialectical) materialism.
While the wall colour functions to unify the two bodies of work in one space, it also draws attention to the technical sense of colour. As in obtaining a particular hue. As in how each material is that hue because of different systems of standardization that are specific to commercial production.
The hue of the paint for the walls is named RAL 3020. The reason being that the red of "Liquidity" (sculpture) is obtained from a selection available for powder coating that relies on the industrial standard of RAL. The industrial standard of RAL 3020 can then be translated into codes used to signify specific hues of wall paint. As a kind of transcoding.
